My teacher told me i might make it into area all state choir, but my research says i cant. HELP!!!?

I performed a level 4 solo in june at nyssma solo festival and got a perfect score on it. My teacher told me tht i had a high chance of making it into area all state choir, but when looking it up it said i had to be going into my junior or senior year in high school and have performed a level 5 or 6 solo, but im only in 8th going onto freshman. A girl in my grade made it last year (as an eighth grader) into a new york state choir tho, but idk wat level solo she did. So did she not accually go to area all state and is there another choir or what? Can someone please help me! I dont want to go all summer hoping i made it to find out its not possible. Someone please help me with any info!
