U.S Marine Corps DEP question?

OK so heres the deal, I just completed my junior year of high school going on my senior and my recruiter is going to DEP me in by July. I already took the asvab and went to meps. He tells me that when I DEP in the latest I can go to boot camp is by July next year (which is after I graduate of course). Lets say if I don't want to go to boot camp as early as July. What do I tell my recruiter?
